Custom Hotel Amenities With Your Logo: OEM Process, Artwork and Realistic Timelines
Branding an amenity programme is mostly a logistics exercise disguised as a design one. The decoration method is decided by the material, and the timeline is decided by how quickly artwork gets approved.

Buyers usually start with the logo file and ask what is possible. It works better the other way round: choose the material and decoration method together, because a logo that looks excellent embossed on a soap bar may be unreadable printed on fleece. Below is how each method behaves in practice, what artwork actually gets used, and where first orders usually lose a week.
1. Decoration methods by material
| Method | Works on | Best for | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Embroidery | Coral fleece, terry, cotton slippers | Premium slippers, suite level | Small text; fine detail is lost |
| Silk screen print | Non-woven pouches, OPP, bottles | One or two flat colours | Photographic artwork not possible |
| Hot stamping / foil | Non-woven, paper boxes, PU | Gold or silver metallic logos | Solid shapes only; cost rises with area |
| Heat transfer | Fleece, non-woven, tubes | Multi-colour artwork | Less durable on high-friction surfaces |
| Soap embossing / stamping | Soap bars | Discreet luxury branding | Simple shapes; depth limited |
| Label printing | Bottles, tubes | Small type, ingredient text, barcodes | Needs print-ready artwork and colour proof |
| Woven label / tag | Slippers, bedding, towels | Brand authenticity | Adds a sewing step |
If your brand mark is a wordmark with fine serifs, screen printing on a pouch at 15mm wide will not hold it. In that case either enlarge the mark or choose a woven label. Suppliers who accept every file without comment are not protecting your brand.
2. The artwork you actually need
- Vector file: AI, EPS or PDF with text converted to outlines. This is the only format that scales cleanly to print.
- 300dpi PNG with a transparent background if vector is genuinely unavailable — acceptable for simple logos only.
- Pantone references for brand colours. 'Navy blue' produces a different navy at every factory.
- A short brand guideline: minimum logo size, clear space, approved colour variants.
- Written authorisation if you are printing a hotel brand you do not own — suppliers should ask for this, and we do.
3. The process, step by step
- 1Specification and quotation — material, decoration method, quantity, packaging.
- 2Free digital or physical mock-up — 24-48 hours. This is where most errors are caught.
- 3Artwork approval in writing — a signed or emailed 'approved' with the file version referenced.
- 4Sampling — 5-7 days. Physical sample with the logo applied, not a photo.
- 5Sample approval — check colour under daylight, print position, size relative to the product.
- 6Mass production — 15-25 days depending on item and decoration.
- 7Pre-shipment inspection and shipping documents.
4. MOQ and why custom costs what it does
Our standard custom MOQ is 5,000 units per design. The cost uplift over a stock item is not margin — it is setup: screens or plates, pouch printing runs, colour matching, and an approval cycle that involves real labour. Above 20,000 units the uplift per piece falls sharply, which is why a programme-wide rollout is usually cheaper per room than a partial one.
If 5,000 is too many for a first order, the practical route is a stock design plus a printed label or sticker for the first season, then a full custom run once the specification is proven. It is a legitimate way to launch without over-committing.
5. Five mistakes that cost a week each
- 1Sending a screenshot of a logo instead of the vector file — the factory redraws it, and the redraw is wrong.
- 2Approving a colour on a phone screen. Ask for a physical proof or a Pantone swatch photo under daylight.
- 3Changing the print position after sampling, which restarts the sample cycle.
- 4Specifying a logo size that is physically smaller than the screen's minimum line width.
- 5Assuming the packaging is included. Confirm whether the logo goes on the product, the pouch, the carton, or all three — each is a separate print.
6. What good custom work looks like
The programmes that age well share one trait: restraint. One logo, one accent colour, consistent placement across every SKU, and packaging that matches the room rather than competing with it. A guest notices coherence long before they notice decoration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you produce a mock-up before I commit to an order?+
Yes. Send a vector logo and the item you are considering, and we return a digital or physical mock-up within 24-48 hours at no cost.
What is the minimum order for a custom logo?+
5,000 units per design. For smaller first orders, a stock design with a printed label is usually the practical alternative.
Need this specification quoted for your property?
Send your room count, star rating and target unit price. We reply with a costed specification, not a catalogue page — usually within 12 hours.
